Eric Rheims (Warsaw)

Eric Rheims is a fully qualified Polish legal advisor. He has gained thirteen years of professional experience at leading Polish and global law offices in advising on intellectual property rights, unfair competition, and advertising law. In particular he advises clients from the luxury brand and pharmaceuticals industry on enforcing protection of intellectual property rights. Eric specialize in detecting structures of organized crime and investigations including criminal prosecution, asset tracing, and confiscation of revenue from crime.

Eric also gained several years of experience in counteracting IT piracy (advising a major OS software producer and a leading international organization of software producers).

Co-author of a number of publications  in domestic and foreign media, primarily on counterfeiting and advertising, including a book on civil and commercial litigation that was published in 2011.

Expert at law enforcement training and national police academy on prosecution in criminal proceedings for infringements of IP and pharmaceutical goods.

Ph.D. Damian Flisak

Thanks to his intensive academic work and collaboration with leading Polish law firms, Damian has gained unique, expert experience. He is a legal expert with years of experience in the field of intellectual property law, especially copyright law and press law, competition law, new technologies law. He also advises on safeguarding the good name and legally protected interests of individuals and of legal entities.

He has many years of experience gained in the renowned law firms Gessel (2006 – 2008) and Wardyński & Partners (2008 – 2013), as well as Head or Co-Head of Legal Departments of EADS-PZL Warszawa-Okęcie (2005 – 2006, an aircraft company) and the Polish Post (2013 - 2016).

For many years, Damian has been intensively studying intellectual property law and obtained a scholarship at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, which led to a Ph.D. degree at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He wrote his dissertation on the phenomenon of multimedia work. He is also an arbitrator at the Court of Conciliation for Internet Domains at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications in Warsaw.

Damian has written numerous scientific and popular publications, including a monograph on copyright and a commentary on the Polish Act on Copyrights and Neighboring Rights as one of the authors and scientific editor (Wolters Kluwer, 2015, 1560 p.). He actively participates in the Europe-wide debate on current copyright-related issues, including those that concern the impact of granting an EU neighbouring right to publishers. Thanks to his achievements, he was offered a membership at the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP).

Damian speaks English, Spanish and German fluently. He is making good progress with French. He is also authorised to conduct sworn translations of German into Polish, and co-authored one of the largest Polish-German dictionaries on the market (Pons Verlag). He specialises in translating complex legal texts. Damian lectures at the Koźmiński University in Warsaw.

 

Adrian Nosal

A graduate of the Law and Administration Faculty at the Jagiellonian University, attorney at law at District Chamber of Legal Advisers in Warsaw. He gained professional experience cooperating with Alina Nowicka- Keńska attorney at law, afterwards he was working at Łozowska& Reczyńska- Ratajczak law firm.

His main areas of interest are protection of intellectual and industrial property rights and litigation. Adrian mostly deals with matters related to copyright infringements and infringements of trademarks protection rights of clients from the pharmaceutical industry. Adrian specialises in civil and criminal litigation.

 

Jakub Kozak

A graduate of the Law and Administration Faculty at the University of Warsaw, trainee legal adviser at District Chamber of Legal Advisers in Warsaw. He gained his professional experience in law firms in Warsaw. He was working at Głowacki and Partners law firm specialising in, among others, IT and new technologies law.

Author and co-author of several publications in law professional magazines, such as “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” (Eng. "Daily Legal Newspaper”) and “Prawo i Podatki” (Eng. “Law and Taxes”).

His main areas of interest are the issues of protection of intellectual and industrial property rights and combating unfair competition. Jakub mostly deals with matters related to online copyright infringements and infringements of trademarks protection rights of clients from the luxury goods and pharmaceutical industries. He speaks English fluently.
